Definition of school social work;

      A school social worker is as an advocate  provides counselling services to the students to their potentials in the schools setting and who assists the students to remove obstacles to success in school.

Role and duties of school social work;

1-The school social work plays a vital role in a school  through communicating  with the parents, teachers, administrators, this process is essential to provide a full view of the issues facing an individual students.

2-School social work plays as a bridge t supportive role the gap between the home and school.

3-To maintain case files and reports to track student problems and progress.

4-To identify parent's behavior at home with school children and assist them accordingly.

5-Work for reduction in drop outs and increase graduation rates.

6-Increase parents involvements through interact with parents.

7-To arrange therapeutic counseling to students and their families.

8-To identify issues related to child development, stress reduction,discipline,and safety, through educational workshops.

9-Maintain case records of the students and submits appropriate documents for statistical reports with adherence to program stander in school social work.

10-Conduct home visits with the aim of establishing communication and positive connections between the parents and school setting around identified issues.

11-Mobilize the community resources to support the educational program.

12-As a part of coordinated system of student services,school social worker assist students in making better use of their school experience.

13-Help teachers to identify children whose needs suggest referral for school social work and or other services.

14-To maintain working relationship with other educators and between parents and teacher to share information and provide follow-up services.

15-Consultation with school administrators, teachers,supports staffs,and parents.

16 Individual counselling and support to students, family counselling support to parents.

17-Publishing materials for parents and professionals related to child schooling and physical and mental grooming.

1- The CO as a change agent, when CO goes to community on a mission by an outside agency than he has to work with community as a member of the community, interact with the people, and help identify priority problems.
2-The CO as a communicator transfers or transmits information through knowledge to members of the community. Sharing of information enables thecommunity to be better prepared and empowered with information.
3- The CO enables the community members for a change and he does not carry out any work by himself but he enables the community to do work.
4-In any process community organization the CO encourages provides direction and guide line to proceed in carrying out the different activities. As an antimatter he plays a vital role in eliciting the active participation of the of the people from planning till evaluation especially ensuring life in all the dealings of the issues and problems.
5-The community organizer understands the community and enables the community to understand itself. At the time of any difficulty he must given the required counseling to proceed in the correct direction.
6-In the process of community organization the community organizer joins hand with his colleagues and other like-minded people and organization. The CO goes towards their goals through the collaborations of net working of similar and like –minded organization.
7-The community organizer serves as a role model and source of inspiration. This type of role is be come an example while working with the people.

8- The CO stimulates and sustains active interest among the community members for finding out a solution to the needs and problems. The organizer encourages the community to take up minor task and complete it successfully which would enable the people to take up difficult task.

Community based organization (CBO) is local non-profit organization and is  typically staffed by local members  that work at local level for the betterment of community in the field of health care, environment education, equality, saving, home industry, and meet other needs and problems of the community members.
  CBOSs are mostly run on voluntary a basis and on self funded. A CBO is consist of a group of people who com to gather  to accomplish  a common goal and who has common culture and faith.

1-To conduct research in selected communities and monitoring social change and new social and social information relevant to community development.
2-To identify community resources and their problems.
3-To identify active persons in community and initiate action through the reference and help of active persons.
4-To encourage and literate the potential persons of the community.
5-To assist community members to identify their needs and  problems and generate  solution.
6- To raise awareness  through slides, movies, charts and other activities.
7- To develop trust and cooperation in the community.
8-To encourage and stimulate full participation by all community members;special attention has to given to those members who are neglected, marginalized and overlook in community decision making;
9-Boost leader ship qualities in community members by giving tasks and responsibility.
10 - To assist the community members in developing their capacity and strength .
